BDD Online Bantam Doubleday Dell (BDD), one of the largest US book publishers, is proud to formally announce the launch of BDD Online (http://www.bdd.com), a World Wide Web site on the Internet devoted to marketing BDD titles and authors. The site has been awarded "Cool Site of the Day" (Glenn Davis), "Top 5% of the Web" (Point.com), and is recommended by Yahoo as the first site to go to when looking for book-related information on the Web. The goal in designing BDD Online has been to meet the needs of the new wave of consumers just now gaining access to the Internet. BDD's hope is to help foster an active community of online readers by offering a unique combination of access to text excerpts and audio samples from our books and the ability to communicate with authors, editors and each other. BDD Online offers weekly visits with different authors and monthly previews of its top releases. While each author visit adapts to the unique nature of the particular author, each revolves around a few key features: readers are given the chance to read excerpts from the author's books or, in some cases, to listen to selections from the audio editions, to learn about the author through profiles and interviews, to check in on the author's schedule of readings and media appearances, and to communicate with the author through e-mail.
