Question/Topic: How to search library records with a barcode scanner?

  • The Bar Code Search function helps you to locate the record which has been assigned a particular barcode (or any number in the text form). Simply scan the barcode (or enter manually) and the program finds the record automatically.
  • On the Search menu click Bar Code Scanner Search.
   


  • Bar Code Field (1.): select the field that stores a bar code value (or a unique catalogue number).
  • Time Delay for Auto-Search (2): enter the time delay after which the search starts. Enter 0 to start search manually (click Go).
  • When Record Found Select This Field (3): select which field is active when the record is found.
  • Find This Bar Code (4): scan or enter manually the bar code (catalogue number) to search for.
  • Auto Clear (5): define the time delay after which the value of the Find This Bar Code box is cleared. The box is ready to accept another bar code.
