Using PrimaSoft Organizers in a multi-user environment

PrimaSoft Organizer databases can be accessed by any number of users simultaneously. Our software uses record locking so only one person has full read/write access to the same record (everybody else has read-only access to the same record).

If you don't need security and your users don't need private databases you can use it in Single-User mode (Options) which simplifies the setup. Everybody will access the same set of databases. No user ids and passwords will be required.

If you need security or your users need private databases you have to set Options to Multi-User mode. In this mode everybody has his/her user id and (optionally) a password. Every user has his/her private databases. The user accounts are controlled by one user with Supervisor user id. Supervisor can modify user accounts, add and delete users, and set access privileges. Also, the Supervisor's database is Public and can be accessed by every user (access to public databases is controlled by Supervisor through user accounts). Any data that is to be shared/accessed by every user should be put in the Public databases.
