About the Author
Sumiko Nagasawa (Sumi Sensei) taught cooking for fifty years to a variety of students - girls and boys in elementary school and adults. She taught Japanese cooking as well as French, South American and Chinese recipes. Her study of
cooking has taken her to France, Brazil, and Mexico. Kimberly Ono lived in Japan until 2001. She learned Japanese cooking from Sumi Sensei. Masami Shiga, the illustrator, is a member of the Hachiman group of Nihonga painters.
