Griffin is a Professor of Speech Communication at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. She received her B.S. degree from California State University, Northridge, her M.A in Communication from the University of Oregon and her Ph.D. from Indiana University. Griffin teaches Public Speaking, Women and Communication, Contemporary Rhetorical Theory, Feminist Rhetorical Theory and Rhetorical Criticism. A proponent of service learning, Griffin integrates service learning assignments into her coursework and has presented at regional and national conventions regarding service learning. In addition to her teaching and research work, Dr. Griffin is Co-Chair of Colorado State University's Commission on Ethnic Diversity and serves on the Diversity Advisory Committee, the University Mentoring Program, and the Graduate Committee.
