Book Description
About the Author "It was a long journey that brought me to the doors of the Old German Restaurant. I grew up in a small village in West Germany, not far from Stutgart. My father was a bricklayer and my mother a midwife. I dreamed of becoming a famous
singer." says Marzella. Marzella married in 1958 and moved to Canada with her new husband Franz. Then in 1961, the Quality Bakery sponsored their entry into the United States.
Shortly after arriving in Ann Arbor, Marzella applied for a job at the
Old German Restaurant. Marzella worked for the Metzger family for over 30 years. Marzella continues, "I wrote this book to memorialize the recipes of the German food that ws loved by so many. I thought it would have been a shame to not leave some sort of
history behind from this famous local establishment - The Old German Restaurant."
