How to create bar code entries for existing records?

Manual creation of the bar code entries for a large number of records could be time consuming. To speed up this process you can use Replace functions.

Your bar codes could include numbers and/or characters. Bar code entries have to be unique. We suggest to use simple numerical values. If you item inventory has about 3000 items, you can use values from 0001 to 3000. If you item inventory has about 20,000 items, you can use values from 00001 to 20000.

  • On the File menu, click Load Database. Select Items database and click Load.
  • On the Search menu, click Replace. Select BARCODE in the Field To Be Replaced box. Select Auto-Increment in the Replace Mode section. Enter 1 in the Start From box. Select First Record in the Start Replacing From section. Click Replace.
