Library software solutions, how to start?



Step 1:
Enter your library materials into Library database.

  • Enter library items by typing.
  • Enter data automatically from the web (Auto Cataloging).
  • Enter data from text, excel, marc files. (Import, Marc)

Requirements:

  • You have to enter only the TITLE value to operate your library system.
  • The TITLE field has to contain the unique value.

We know that many small libraries do not use barcode scanners and barcode labels when processing check in/out transactions. In order to support this feature our library system requires unique entry into TITLE field. Values of the TITLE field have to be unique.
If you have 2 or more copies of the same book, enter them in the following way:
"To kill a mockingbird - 1"
"To kill a mockingbird - 2"



Notes:

  • Names of all fields explain what type of information you can enter.
  • You can rename data field names.

Step 2:
Enter your library patrons into Borrowers database.

  • Enter library patrons/members by typing.
  • Enter data from text, excel, or other files. (Import)

Requirements:

  • You have to enter only the NAME value to operate your library system.
  • The NAME field has to contain the unique value.

We know that many small libraries do not use barcode scanners and barcode labels when processing check in/out transactions. In order to support this feature our library system requires unique entry into NAME field. Values of the NAME field have to be unique.
If you have 2 or more borrowers with the same names, enter them in the following way:
"John Green 1"
"John Green 2"

Step 3:
Define due date, fine(optional) and barcode(optional), and other library parameters.






Step 4:
Your library system is ready to process loan and return transactions.

  • Process loan and return transactions manually (select, enter item/borrower title/name). Loan and Return transactions
  • Process loan and return transactions using barcode labels and barcode scanners (scan item/borrower barcode label/card). Loan and Return transactions
  • You can process circulation transactions if the Library(Items) database is loaded or using Check In/Out module (stand-alone application).
