How to link your handy library application to a bar code scanner?

We are not really IT savvy volunteer to assist in a charity organization. Do you have a set of instruction on hardware on how to link the library system to barcode scanner? For the barcode label, how do we know which type of sticker to use? Is there any recommended brand?

You do not have to link our library system with a barcode scanner. It is done automatically when you connect your scanner with the computer. The scanner works the same way as your keyboard, you press keys and characters display where you cursor blinks. In the case of the scanner, you will scan the bar code label, the scanner reads the information and sends it to your computer, the number will appear on the screen in the open application. If the application is MS Word, the number will display in the word document. If the application is our library system with the check in check out transaction windows, the number will display in the bar code box and will be processed accordingly.

You do not have to link barcode scanner with our software, you just plug the barcode scanner into the computer and it works right away. Open Handy Library Manager, open Check In-Out windows; scan the barcode, the item/borrower is selected.
