Data Type/Control Type

You define the data type when you create a new table. You choose the control type when you design the data entry form (when you insert the field into the data entry form). The control type supports the set of commands that are relevant to the type of data you enter. Review the list of data types with control types.

Text fields:

• Text / Simple Text
• Text / Combo Box
• Text / Graphic
• Text / Auto-Incrementing
• Text / Email
• Text / Mask Edit
• Text / Web Browser
• Text / Attachment

Memo fields:

• Memo / Plain Memo
• Memo / HTML Memo

Date field:

• Date / Date

Numerical field:

• Integer / Integer
• Numeric / Numeric
• Numeric / Radio Buttons
• Numeric / Check Box

Advanced fields:

• Text, Numeric (SQL)

Advanced fields:

• Calculated
• QueryEdit
• MasterDetail
