Help, how to topics > Library users.

Question:
Can we enter patron names by typing the information or how do we enter each student? And then will they have their own barcode we can scan each time they check out a book. Also, Do patron barcodes need to be different from book barcodes? Or do they have a different pre-fix? I noticed there was a P in front of the student numbers when adding them. We previously used Athena for our library and the school library flooded last year so we are needing to purchase another program.

Answer:
You can enter the patron names directly into our system. Additionally, you can import data from a spreadsheet file (formatted text files included; we assist with transferring patron or library data). Please ensure that patron and book barcodes have different values. Using a prefix for library barcode numbers is optional, and the user can decide whether to assign a prefix.
