Drop-Down Lists

Drop-down lists allow users to select predefined values during data entry.

They help standardize information and improve data consistency.

You can either type text into the box or select an item from the list. You can type the first few letters of text and have the box auto complete the selection. You can type text into the box and the new item will be saved in the list.

You can edit list items in the Edit List Items window (right mouse click on the box and select Edit List).

Click with the right mouse button on the drop-down list. In the popup menu click Edit List. In the Edit List Items window edit the list.

  • Update List from Table: Populates the list with values currently stored in the selected data field.
  • Load: Imports a list of values into the application from a predefined text file.
  • Save: Exports and stores the current list of values into a text file.
  • Fix Case in Table: This feature changes the values in the table to match the format of the items in the list box. For example, if you convert all items in the list box to "ALL UPPER CASE," you can then execute "Fix Case in Table."
