Quilting group needs small library system. Software comparison.

1. Can you tell me the principal functional differences between the Handy Library Manager and the Small Library Organizer Pro software please? We are a community quilting group with a membership of about 350 and a small library for members use. system: Windows 10; product: Handy Library Manager
2. Our books are currently barcoded using Code 39. Does Handy recognise this?
3. Our current library software is Athena, we are assuming there would be no problems in migrating our existing system?
4. The Handy Library does not need an internet connection to operate does it? The hall where we hold our meetings does not have internet access.
5. Is it possible to have our catalogue available online for members to access and see what we have?

1. Review Handy/Small Library comparison page.
2. Handy Library recognizes Code 39 bar code labels.
3. Good library systems (Athena included) offer export feature to marc or text delimited (spreadsheet) formats. Create this file, send it to us, and we will transfer your data.
4. Handy does not need the Internet to operate.
5. Right now we provide free web search service:
- once in a while you can send a backup of the library data to us
- we will load it to our web server
- it will support library search (it will not display the loan status of the item).
