We are looking for a library system for a non-circulating library of about 18,000 items that can: 1) Log in items quickly using the bar code on the item (it it has one) or scan the title and author.
2) Place a barcode in the item to keep track of it in the library (i.e. I know we have to place the barcode manually and we need them with our name on them).
3) Have the system easily find the items in the library showing their location.
4) If we buy a license up (1 user, 5 computers), is that only buying a license to run separate iterations of the program on five separate computers, or is there some way of syncing or sharing the tables on one computer to another? I.e. one computer can manage data entry for the catalogue, and the same catalogue can be searched on another computer with the search module.
5. If the second isn't the case, which licenses would work for that capability?
6. What do they cost? Also, I assume you have a barcode reader that works with these and what does that cost?
The library is just an unusually large family library (20,000ish books/items), and we would like the ability to have the catalogue searchable from different locations in the house.
