Media Technician looking for a new library system. Hello, we have a small library with older books and unusual items - toys and switches for special needs. We have been using old Winnebago Spectrum for years, now not working. We may have to enter all our materials manually, is there a way to do this with a scanner on the ones that have bar codes with ISBN? Also, can patrons search for things in this system by subject? What kind of barcode scanner would work? A phone app or something else?

You can enter any items into our system. Our system supports auto-cataloguing and manual entry. You can use barcode scanner and scan ISBN barcode numbers into the search box: web search by ISBN
Patrons can search by any data field: patrona search module.
Library application use basic barcode scanners (1-D). We list some scanners on our site (from Amazon site): price range $30-$50.
