Help, how to topics > Libraries Asking Questions > Church Questions > Church library wants to set up a web based database.

People to request library book online.

system: Windows 10 product: Handy for Church Library My wife is in charge of looking after the library in our church, because of Covid-19 we need to find a new way for people to be able to access books from our library. Want to set up some type of web based data base were they can request a book or books, then have my wife or another volunteer take the online request and get the book/books packed for delivery or pickup by the person. Want to be able to incorporate it into our church web site.

I would suggest to look for ready-to-use web systems. They are mainly subscription based products. Payment is monthly or yearly. A good system would cost between 300-500 yearly.

Our application is a Windows program. It is easy for a PC user to install our Handy Library Manager application on Windows computer. All features are supported on the installed computers.
With web application it’s different (Handy Library supports some web functionality). In order to offer the web functionality the software has to be installed on the Web Server Windows system (computer connected to the web). This computer listens to the requests send from the web, when the request is received the server interprets it and sends response accordingly. Please review our library web search service application that runs on the web.
