Genealogical Society Library looking for a better search (web search).

This message is from the County Genealogical Society Library. We have a library of approximately 5-6000 books and periodicals. We are searching for cataloging software that will provide a better search for our patrons as well as doing accessions and printing of labels. Our current online search is an excel document put into google docs. It is possible to search but very "clunky". After you put in a search word (author, title or subject) it highlights the matches but does not present them on a separate page. As a result the patron must scroll through the entire catalog looking for highlighted materials. If we purchase PrimaSoft product will we be able to import our excel catalog along with the Dewey Decimal number and will the search results appear on a separate page?

Our software supports import from excel files. You can send the file to us as attachment and we will process the transfer for free or you can review the import topic and process import:

Search Utility (on Windows PCs with installed application). All our database management systems offer flexible search features (simple search, advanced search, query search with sql). The search is performed within the application, not on the web or from the web.

To have the web search the program has to be installed on the Windows Web Server computer. For users who purchase our Handy Library Manager ($345 + support $59.95) we offer free web search service. It works in the following way: library is maintained with our Handy Library Manager, once in while the backup file is send to us and we will provide web search from our server.
