Church searching for library application has questions about: checking out, circulation labels, and multiple copies.

I am searching for new software to install at our church library. Today I was looking at your Small Library Organizer Pro and Handy Library Manager. I have some questions regarding the two programs:

1.It appears that the Handy Library Manager software requires us to assign a number to each borrower and that is how we enter items they check out (rather than entering their name). Is that correct? If so, that software will not meet our needs.

2. Will Small Library Organizer Pro allow us to print sets of labels for new additions that include a spine label plus a circulation and pocket label? (Demo product #WA14218000)

3. In the Check out process can we enter a borrower name and a barcode for the item? (The examples show borrower name and item title or borrower number and item barcode but not a "mix.")

4. In the Check Integrity section it says that "Library items with duplicate names are not allowed." Does that mean we can't have multiple copies of the same title; or do they just need to have different barcodes?

Thank you for providing answers to these questions. This will help me determine whether your software will be best option for us.

1. Handy Library does not require users to assign a number to each borrower. If the number (bar code number) is not entered the program creates the number automatically. The number is there, it is optional if the number will be used in the check in-out transaction. You can enter or select item title and borrower name to process check out.

2. Our library applications do not print set of labels that have different size (spine, circulation, pocket) and are on the same page. Handy Library Manager let you print spine, circulation, pocket, barcode, card, tag labels when each label type is on a separate label page.

You can use borrower names and a barcode for the item to process check out transaction (any combination is supported).

This is the requirement for our old library system: Small Library Organizer Pro. In this system we suggest to enter the copy number together with the book title (multiple copies). Handy Library Manager provides excellent multiple copies entry and features. You enter just one main item and then separately copies.
