One librarian in an elementary school is accessing the program; do I need 1-User for $345 or School License for $545?

I am one librarian in an elementary school. I am the only person who would be accessing the program so do I need the 1 User license for $345 or do I need the School License (network license) for $545? I am not clear on what the difference is.
Also, you previously said the Handy Manager is better than Small Library Pro, .. just curious as to why.
I am looking for a system where I can use a barcode scanner to upload book titles and circulate. I also need to be able to search out where to find titles once they are entered into the system. I know you said I would need to purchase a scanner from another vendor. Is there one you recommend and is this something that simply plugs into a USB port? Perhaps you have an instructional video I can watch? Sorry to be a pain, it is just that I want to be able to clearly explain to administration what the funds are being used for.
