What would be the best way to allow self-checkout?

My school currently has Handy Library Manager, version 1.0. We are trying to decide if our needs are best met by an upgrade, or by finding different software options. Right now, we have a single computer license. We run the program on only one computer, but would like to find a way to allow self-checkouts. Therefore, I'd like to know what would be best for our needs. I want to back up to the school server and have at least one standalone self-checkout station, in addition to the primary computer I use for cataloging and other circulation. If possible, I'd like students to have access to other computers, perhaps even in their classrooms, to search our catalog. Is this something your school license covers? If not, does the server license cover it? What would be the cost of an upgrade in addition to adding the new licensing type (from single computer to school/server)?

There is a stand alone check in/out application, it supports self checkout. If your school supports network installation, the check out module can be accessed from client computers.

There is a search module; it runs in a similar way as check in/out module. On the network system you can define access to the search module from the client computer.

Upgrade to the network version costs only $200, this is a discounted offer for schools.

My library is self-service. Library members can check our books and then return them. Whenever the library is open, actually whenever the church is open. The library collection is in the excel spreadsheet format. The collection is getting too large. Is there a good software program that will accommodate self-service patrons?

We offer the check-in/check-out app. Libary members can check books out and then check them in.
