library options, general
  • Default Library: Select the default library, which is the library that opens when you start the program. This option is available if you have multiple library databases in the system (for example, a book library, textbook library, and equipment library).
  • View panel width: This setting determines the width of the left panel, which displays the library items table (the grid).
  • Use Large Font: When enabled, this option displays data using larger fonts for better readability.
  • Program Lockout Time: If you do not use the program for a period longer than the specified lockout time, you will be required to log in again.
  • Start Screen:Define the starting window that will appear when the program launches.
  • Display Page Size: Use this option if you are running the program over a network and have a large number of records. This setting controls how many records are displayed in the corresponding tables. Adjusting the page size can improve the performance of the library system when dealing with numerous records.
  • Limited Access Settings (new in v3.6): This option simplifies the interface of certain windows, hides web functions, and enables local help (if installed).

Default Library: Choose the default library. This option is available if you have multiple library databases in the system, including the Main Library, Equipment Library, and Textbook Library.

Limited Access Settings

- Hide Quick Add: The library and borrower tables will not display quick add forms.
- Hide Quick Edit: The library and borrower tables will not display quick edit forms.
- No Auto Cataloging: The application will not show features for "auto-cataloging from the web".
- Use Local Help (if installed): Help buttons will display local help topics from the following folder: "C:\handy_lib\data\help\".
We predefine Limited Access Settings in special compilations, such as Handy Library Manager for prisons.

For example, if the Page Size is set to 10, only 10 rows will be displayed. Navigation buttons such as Go To Page, PgDn, and PgUp will be available.
